To hem, or not to hem?

Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous tailoring fees, or take arms against ever-changing hemlines . . . Thrifted TSE cashmere skirt; Banana Republic blouse; Antonio Melani shoes.

The length you're holding it at is perfect.

Keep the length - it's more versatile that way

Don't hem! It appears too short when slightly above the knee. Try it; you can always change your mind later.

I would hem but perhaps a bit lower than you have in the first picture. You have to take sitting into account when hemlines rise. :)

@Cara I was never very good at it, but I don't think that you have to be to get something out of it. If you are interested in it, you should give it another try. It's great exercise, and it made me, at least, feel beautiful and graceful.

Yes, it certainly shows. I always wish someone had made me take ballet as a child. I tried it at 15, but by then I'm afraid it was too late for me, lol!

@Cara Thanks!!! I took ballet for years. I had hopeless posture and turned in feet as a child. My doctor suggested ballet, and it worked like a charm. I've always prided myself on my posture and carriage.

Yes, hem it, and maybe consider different shoes? It's a bit matronly all together. By the way, did you ever take ballet? Your pose in that second picture is so balletic, especially the hands :)

i actually like it as is, but it could probably stand just a bit of tailoring.
