    The point of the French tips style, is to replicate the natural nail, where the pink is attached to the skin, and the white is what grows beyond. Your thumbnail is too short for this, and it looks odd.

    The excess nail polish will come off in the shower..thank you though. I really love this look. The tips were fading so I added gold.

    The gold tips are kind of tacky. I just don't like the french manicure style though. Try just the light pink alone and wipe off some of the excess nail polish from your cuticles with a Q-tip.,
